Ecole Française de Rome EFR

Fondée en 1875, l’École française de Rome est un établissement public à caractère scientifique, culturel et professionnel, placé sous la tutelle du ministère de l'enseignement supérieur, de la recherche et de l'innovation.

Depuis 2011, l'EFR fait partie du Réseau des Écoles françaises à l'étranger avec l’École française d’Athènes, l’Institut français d’archéologie orientale, l’École française d’Extrême-Orient et la Casa de Velázquez.

Missions de l'EFR
L’École française de Rome a pour mission fondamentale la recherche et la formation à la recherche  dans le champ de l’archéologie, de l’histoire et des autres sciences humaines et sociales, de la Préhistoire à nos jours. Son domaine d’intervention privilégié couvre un espace comprenant Rome, l’Italie, le Maghreb et les pays du Sud-Est européen proches de la mer Adriatique. Elle collabore à des programmes de recherche internationaux à travers des chantiers archéologiques et des rencontres scientifiques. Elle publie chaque année plus d'une vingtaine de volumes dans ces domaines et une revue biannuelle, les Mélanges.

Elle met à la disposition des chercheurs de tout pays ses ressources documentaires, en particulier sa bibliothèque spécialisée riche de plus de 200 000 volumes, située au deuxième étage du Palais Farnèse.

Elle accueille des doctorants (boursiers et contrats doctoraux), des jeunes chercheurs (membres), ainsi que des enseignants-chercheurs, chercheurs et autres personnalités scientifiques plus confirmés (chercheurs résidents, chercheurs mis à disposition par le CNRS, et chercheurs partenaires des programmes scientifiques).

Premières loges

Magazines d’actualité, revue spécialisée ou livres au long cours : les Éditions Premières Loges prolongent le plaisir de l’écoute. Tous les formats, pour tout le classique. 

Fondées en 1989, les éditions Premières Loges s’organisent dès leurs naissance autour de L’Avant-Scène Opéra dont elles assurent toujours la publication. Depuis 2018, elles ont rejoint le groupe Humensis au sein duquel elles publient sous leur marque revues, livres et magazines sur l’univers de la musique classique.

POLI Editions

La revue Poli interroge les cultures visuelles, audiovisuelles et interactives. Du cinéma à la musique pop, de la télévision au web, de la photographie au jeu vidéo, Poli porte un regard neuf sur les images actuelles.

Poli aborde les enjeux de la production, médiation et réception des cultures visuelles et ouvre un espace de réflexion autour des industries culturelles et créatives via des contributions internationales provenant d’horizons variés.

Ecole française Extrême-Orient

L'Ecole française d'Extrême-Orient (EFEO), fondée en 1900 à Saigon, a pour mission la recherche interdisciplinaire sur les civilisations asiatiques, de l'Inde au Japon. L'EFEO est présente, grâce à ses 18 centres de recherche, dans 12 pays d'Asie. Cette spécificité permet à ses 42 chercheurs permanents (anthropologues, archéologues, linguistes, historiens, philologues, sociologues des religions, etc.) d'être sur les terrains de leurs études, et d'animer un réseau de coopérations locales et d'échanges internationaux entre scientifiques orientalistes.

Les Éditions Buissonnières

Les Éditions Buissonnières ont été créées en 1991 par Georges Boulestreau à Crozon. Spécialisées dans l’édition scolaire et musicale, les Éditions Buissonnières intègrent également un studio de création et d’exécution graphique travaillant pour les collectivités locales, les éditeurs, les agences de communication et les entreprises.

Les Éditions Buissonnières (6 personnes) réalisent depuis plus de 20 ans des livres scolaires et musicaux, des guides touristiques, des magazines pour les collectivités locales, des catalogues pour l’industrie. Pour l'édition scolaire, Sylvie Vieillard est responsable des éditions scolaires et chargée des dossiers environnementaux, Catherine Walmetz est responsable des éditions musicales. Le studio graphique est animé par Nadine Gautier-Quentin et Sébastien Salesses, graphistes et co-gérants et Annick Lefèbvre. Valérie Melkonian est comptable et responsable des impressions, ventes et expéditions.

Chandos Publishing

Founded in 2017 by specialist book dealer Richard Carrick, Chandos Publications is dedicated to bringing original and exciting aviation and military books to market.

Having run a successful on-line aviation and military bookselling operation since 2010, Rich, a keen model maker, felt that publishing was a natural extension to his activities and from the start wanted to ensure a high level of production quality combined with subjects of interest among aviation and military enthusiasts.

Says Rich,

‘Welcome to Chandos Publications. I am delighted to bring to the aviation and military literature market a new and exciting range of books.  I will be working with a highly regarded team of professional authors, editors, designers and enthusiasts in the pursuit of accuracy and attention to detail.

I have a lifelong interest in military history. My father is a founding member of the International Plastic Modellers Society, and I have spent over 30 years building scale models. For a long time, I have been aware of the huge crossover potential between the two disciplines of model-making and book collecting.  In my capacity as a military and aviation book dealer, I have had the opportunity to get to know a large number of publishers and authors, many of whom are also model-makers. I realised that modellers and enthusiasts are always looking for new and interesting books, whether to use as references for a model build, or simply to read, cherish and display on their bookcases. Before setting up Chandos I had a good idea of the kind of books that I wanted to produce.  Taking my cue from such established and successful publishers as Classic Publications, Monogram, Schiffer, JaPo, Trojca and Eagle Editions, my aim is to produce high-quality titles that you will be proud to own. They can be used both as stand-alone history books, and as primary references to help ensure an accurate model build. The initial focus will be on World War Two Luftwaffe subjects, although I am also hoping to explore other areas of military history. For this, and future projects, I have employed the services of the original Classic Publications team of Robert Forsyth, Eddie J. Creek, Arthur Bentley and Mark Nelson. Our first book will be a completely re-worked, expanded and up-dated edition of Martin Pegg’s seminal 1997 work Hs 129 Panzerjäger!, originally published by Classic.  Our second book is a fascinating title covering late-war Luftwaffe operations using the Arado Ar 234. I hope that these two books will be the first of many in our planned ‘Luftwaffe Library’ series.
